Amber Urbain - Vice President - Middle School/Junior High
My name is Amber Urbain and I am excited and honored to serve on the ISCA board as the Middle School Vice President. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa and my Master’s in School Counseling from the University of Iowa. I am currently a 5th/6th grade counselor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at College Community Schools. I am also lucky enough to work side by side with my therapy dog, Addie.
In my “past life”, I was a social worker in the Cedar Rapids area for six years. I am entering my sixth year as a school counselor and am proud to be part of such a dedicated and passionate group of professionals! ISCA is here to help school counselors advocate for their counseling programs, network with other professionals and provide innovative opportunities for professional development, among many other things.
When I’m not at school, I am usually spending time with my husband, son and two dogs. We love boating, spending time outside and watching sports…Go Cubs!
I would love to be a resource for you—if there is anything I can help you with as a school counselor, please feel free to get in touch with me!
