Jaclyn Dehner - President Elect-Elect
My name is Jaclyn Dehner and I am excited to serve on the ISCA Board as the President Elect-Elect this year. I received my associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Southeastern Community College, my bachelor’s degree in Educational Foundations from Iowa Wesleyan College, and my master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Iowa. I currently work as an elementary school counselor at Findley Elementary School in Des Moines, Iowa.
I first joined ISCA as a graduate student while attending the University of Iowa and since then I have found myself becoming more involved with the association over the years. I believe it is important as school counselors to advocate not only for our students but for our profession as well. I know ISCA is a valuable resource for all professional school counselors. My hope is for ISCA to continue to be innovative and lead the way for school counselors across the nation; becoming a model state association.
My love language is quality time, therefore, it is easy to say in my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy art of all forms including music, dance, visual, poetry, and theatrical. A little fun fact, I am currently training my dog, Annie, to become a therapy dog.
I am here to help you as a school counselor. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
