Do you know someone who deserves an award for their work as a school counselor?  ISCA presents an array of awards at its annual conference in November. To nominate someone for an award, review the criteria below and follow the guidelines.

Iowa School Counselor of the Year

 
Think of a counseling colleague...
  • Someone with whom you work
  • Someone from whom you find support
  • Someone whose counseling program supports the ASCA standards
  • Someone who goes that extra mile to support students
  • Someone who makes a true difference and is a credit to the school counseling profession

Does this someone deserve state-wide recognition by his/her peers? Are they the next Iowa School Counselor of the Year?

Nomination Process:

Your nominee with receive an immediate notification vie email and will be asked to complete the online application process.

 
Nominees must be a member of ISCA as of September 30, 2017.

Deadlines:

  • Nomination deadline: August 31, 2017.
  • Application deadline: September 30, 2017.

ISCA Lifetime Achievement Award

 
This recognition is given to an individual who has made major contributions to the school counseling profession in the state of Iowa. Nominate someone who has made a substantial and long-term commitment to the school counseling profession.


Nomination Process:

The application packet can be completed by either nominator or the nominee. Nominees must be a member of ISCA as of September 15, 2017.

Deadlines:

  • Nomination deadline: August 31, 2017.
  • Application deadline: September 30, 2017.

Advocate of the Year

The School Counselor Advocate of the Year recognizes an individual or group whose advocacy of school counseling services has had a positive effect on school counseling on a local, state or national level. Nominees can be current or past school counselors, principals, parents, school board members, legislators, or state or local organizations that have advocated or provided opportunities for professional school counselors.
