Gina Beals - Graduate Student Chair
I am excited to be the ISCA School Counseling Student Chair. In my first semester as a graduate student, I realized that I needed to be involved in ISCA as a student so that I could be knowledgeable about my chosen profession. I also see my membership and attendance of the ISCA conference as opportunities to network with professional school counselors who are currently working in the field. As the Student Chair, I look forward to helping graduate students become connected and informed through their membership.
Currently, I am a graduate student in Drake University’s School Counseling track. In addition to being a school counseling graduate student, I am in my 15th year as a 7th grade Language Arts teacher at Callanan Middle School in Des Moines. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary and Middle School Education from the University of Northern Iowa and my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Morningside College.
My husband, John, and I have two daughters, Rylee (7) and Jordyn (3). We enjoy being on the water and playing outside together. We spend a lot of our time in the fall, spring, and summer at the softball fields. Personally, as an avid reader, I look forward to finding the time to read for my own enjoyment. I have a long list of books I want to read after I complete graduate school!
